Role title: Research Volunteer
Availability: 20 hours/week, flexible working hours
About RightsTech Women:
RightsTech Women is a nonprofit association based in Geneva. Our mission is to advance the human rights of women and girls in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). We are currently looking for Research Volunteers.
Tasks of the Research Volunteers:
- to conduct a supervised desk research study, using existing data sources of relevant international organizations, on the situation of women and girls in STEM fields;
- to compile and to visualize information into easily understood formats; and,
- to assist with other tasks as needed.
Prerequisites and competencies required:
- degree in Qualitative Research, Social Sciences, Economics, International Relations, Statistics or a related field from an accredited academic institution
- previous experience with ILO will be an asset
- strong experience in Microsoft excel and Google spreadsheets
- familiar with commonly used research methods;
- able to compare data sets and information, as appropriate, and to analyze information and gaps;
- completes assignments on time and communicates questions;
- is able to work well in a team and independently when required; and,
- is an enthusiastic, motivated worker, committed to quality work and to good team outcomes.
- must have her or his own laptop and be able to use it for work; and
- must have a functioning Internet connection through which to communicate with the team.
- must already be present in Geneva, in possession of a Swiss residence permit valid for the duration of the volunteer position; and,
- must already have her or his own valid Swiss health insurance for the duration of the volunteer position.
