EU Code Week is a grass-roots movement that celebrates creativity, problem solving and collaboration through programming and other tech activities. The idea is to make programming more visible, to show young, adults and elderly how you bring ideas to life with code, to demystify these skills and bring motivated people together to learn.

20 June 2023: RightsTech Women, CERN Micro Club, European Schoolnet and Code Week Ambassadors held an online invitation for new teachers

Together with CERN Micro Club, the European Schoolnet, the Code Week team, as well as Code Week ambassadors from other countries, RightsTech Women co-organized an online invitation meeting for teachers to present Code Week 2023 (7-22 October 2023). There were more than 180 participants joining from countries including Albania, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, and more. During the meeting, the Code Week team and country ‘ambassadors’ for Code Week shared opportunities for trans-border collaboration such as the e-Twinning platform. Code Week ambassadors from Portugal, Switzerland, France & Bulgaria jointly, and Slovenia presented country examples of Code Week activities. RightsTech Women and CERN Micro Club shared examples of Code Week activities organized in the Geneva, Switzerland area. Code Week’s ambassador coordinator, Alessandro Bogliogo (Italy) underlined the important role of schools and teachers for the widespread success of Code Week.
