Robotics and programming for girls: Registration is open!

Are you a 10 to 18-years old girl and would you like to learn how to program a robot? Are you a parent of 10 to 18-years old daughter? We have a perfect workshop for you!

On October 6, together with CERN Micro Club and Hepia, we are organizing half-day workshops to familiarize our future citizens with new technologies.

Discover robotics and programming with the Poppy Ergo Jr robots and the hepiaLight programmable touch screen. It’s easy, simple to learn and use, and it will make you familiar with scientific thinking and algorithmics (the science of programming).

The workshop is free; however, we ask for a small donation of 5CHF to thank our volunteers and to organize other workshops later. We’ll use Poppy Ergo Jr and hepiaLight.

Poppy Ergo Jr is a robot accessible to everyone, ready to use. Here are some examples of what it can do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXHeD8XeZTc.

hepiaLight is a programmable electronic card. It consists of a LED display matrix, four capacitive touch buttons and an accelerometer. It can run programs. More info:

Practical information:
There is no need to bring your own computer, we will provide it, but you can bring a laptop if you have one and prefer to use yours.
Every participant must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.
One workshop lasts half a day but it is possible to do both workshops: hepiaLight in the morning and Poppy Ergo Jr in the afternoon.
Lunch is not provided, the break is between 12h and 13h30.
